Guinea: Country Director

The Christian Children’s Fund is a leading global NGO working in 33 countries and assisting more than 10.5 million children and families regardless of race, creed or gender. CCF addresses the causes of poverty in relation to children and provides practical tools for positive change. CCF Guinea, a new CCF programme with offices based in Conakry, Guinea is currently seeking to fill two new challenging positions. COUNTRY DIRECTOR – GUINEA
Key responsibilities of this new and exciting position will include: the provision of strategic leadership and vision for the Guinea programme with full operational responsibility; articulating CCF’s vision and mission; designing and implementing a strategic plan to address the causes and effects of poverty and other adverse conditions affecting children in the country. This position will attract a leader with plenty of initiative and extensive high level management experience within an NGO/development context. Technical expertise in such areas as financial management, project, budget and resource management is essential, as is the ability to think and act analytically, conceptually and strategically. Excellent written and oral communication skillls, fluency in French and English and the ability to attract local and international resources and build alliances are also required. Familiarity with the development sector in West Africa and Guinea in particular will be a definite advantage, as will exposure to children’s issues and the concept of sponsorship. PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Key responsibilities of this new challenging post include the efficient design, delivery and management of all CCF programs in Guinea. This will include responsibility for program quality and the program monitoring and evaluation processes. Applicants must have appropriate tertiary qualifications and 5-6 years experience at a senior management level in a recognized and reputable international development agency. Experience with both emergency and long term development programs, particularly those which affect children, will be a distinct advantage, as will some knowledge and experience of the economic and social issues which affect development strategies in countries in West Africa. Fluency in French and English is essential.
