  • G20 Compact with Africa in Berlin: Implications for EU-Africa relations

Marco Zoppi | Popular Participation & Democratization
    06.07.2017

The proposed formula contains appealing guidelines for initiating economic development in Africa, but it does not address long-term stability and protection from risks and global volatility. Risks are only understood as risks for the investors. Thus, this development strategy embraces the prevailing neoliberalism that re-enacts colonialism.

  • Diana Johnstone: Financial elite created France's new president, Emmanuel Macron

Ann Garrison | Global South & Transnational Struggles
    18.05.2017

Elites whipped up mass hysteria that Le Pen is a fascist to put the neoliberal globalist Macron in power. • Reflections on post-US elections geopolitics: Part six

Yash Tandon | Global South & Transnational Struggles
    02.02.2017

The Trump phenomenon points to a civilizational shift; namely, the slow, painful demise of the Western Empire. If this shift breaks down the European Union, dismantles NATO, weakens the Empire’s financial control over the global South, and opens a space for a new moral and political order to emerge, then it is an opportunity all revolutionary forces must seize.

  • Brexit and the EU implosion: National sovereignty for what purpose?

Samir Amin | Global South & Transnational Struggles
    21.07.2016

The defence of national sovereignty, like its critique, leads to serious misunderstandings once one detaches it from the social class content of the strategy in which it is embedded. The leading social bloc in capitalist societies always conceives sovereignty as a necessary instrument for the promotion of its own interests based on both capitalist exploitation of labour and the consolidation of its international positions.
