She/he is expected to provide direction to programmes, secure funding, produce reports and assist in the training of new staff on the themes the Institute engages in. SEATINI is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization aiming at strengthening Africa in world trade negotiations. It has its head office in Harare, Zimbabwe, and country offices in Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, including a representative office in Geneva, Switzerland. It has a staff complement of 20 people.
SEATINI is a values - based organization that has a vision of a strong African and South-South regional cooperation and integration. It was founded in 1997 by Prof Yash Tandon, who was the Director until January 1^st 2005. SEATINI offers research, workshops and capacity building services on global and regional trade negotiations issues for stakeholders in the region. It produces a fortnight Bulletin, fact sheets, discussion papers and research materials.

We are searching for a person with good knowledge of the political economy of the Eastern and Southern Africa region as well as on Global political economy and the Trade and Development agenda. Experience with representative and diplomatic work is preferable, but not a prerequisite for the position. The conditions of employment will be disclosed to short-listed candidates.
