Christian Aid seeks an exceptional and experienced Africanist policy researcher who will continue and develop its strong reputation for effective policy and advocacy strategies on corporate and Africa programme priorities (currently livelihoods, accountable governance, economic justice and HIV/AIDS. This is a key senior post in the Africa Division. The Division is embarking on an ambitious programme to contribute to the eradication of poverty in Africa at this critical time, and it includes a growing policy and advocacy dimension.). You will understand continental trends and institutions, but also undertake policy work in one specific area of expertise. You will contribute to the overall management of the Africa Division and manage three staff in the Africa Policy and Advocacy Unit. You will play a significant liaison role across Christian Aid, working and representing Christian Aid externally at the highest levels.

As this post is UK based, non-EC nationals will require current and valid permission to work in the UK, as the Department of Employment will only issue work permits in exceptional circumstances and for limited periods only.
