Announcing a short evening course on African diasporas and
development;

Title: AFRICANS WITHOUT BORDERS; development from a distance

This is an introductory course based course on UK-based Africans'
contributions to development. You will discuss issues of migration,
remittances, advocacy and practical aspects of community
organisation. Using visiting speakers and a case study approach, you
will consider the changing nature of African diaspora and community
engagement.

The 8-week short course, now in its fifth year, examines and debates
the contribution of the African diaspora to Africa's development. It
also considers the role of African diaspora organisations in terms
of advocacy and sustaining small and community development groups, as
well as influencing mainstream development and practice. Places are
limited to c.20; early booking is essential.
