Whether human rights violations are taking place in major cities or in rural areas, you will maintain an in-depth overview of the issues at stake.

Throughout the world, thousands of people live under threat and are
being denied their most fundamental rights twenty-four hours a day.
Leading our work across the sub-Saharan Africa, you will play the role in establishing and protecting their rights. Whether human rights
violations are taking place in major cities or in rural areas, you will
maintain an in-depth overview of the issues at stake you will then take overall responsibility for leading Amnesty International's efforts in
resolving them, managing field-based research, deploying significant
resources and controlling a budget of UKP1.8 million.
While you will bebased in London, you will spend a lot of time in Africa. You will need fluent English and a good knowledge of French, as both languages are widely spoken throughout the region. It is equally important that you
can demonstrate superb management skills, astute political judgement,
a successful track record of working in an NGO and an in-depth
knowledge of world issues.
Highly persuasive and an excellent decision-maker, you must be committed to our principles and determined to make a real difference within the world.
