Africa: Director - SARPN

SARPN is hiring Director (Head of SARPN)

Pretoria, South Africa

SARPN was established with the primary objective of promoting poverty reduction in the SADC region through networking, broadening and deepening of stakeholder access to development information and participation in the poverty debate.

SARPN invites applications for the post of Director from persons with regional experience to lead the organisation.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years managerial experience and exposure, preferably in a regional capacity including:

· Public policy and processes · Management and leadership experience · Policy Research experience · Sound working understanding of the SADC region, NEPAD, Pan African Parliament and similar institutes The successful candidate will be selected from applicants who are nationals of the SADC region and who have relevant post graduate senior academic degree qualifications and linkages among relevant networks and policy actors across the SADC region.

The Director's key performance areas include the following:

· Report to a Board of Directors · Planning, positioning, influencing, leading and directing the medium to long term strategic positioning of SARPN as a platform for information exchange and debate amongst stakeholders.

· Establishing, developing and nurturing networks across political, social, economic and geographical boundaries primarily within the region · Strategic organisational leadership · Organisational financial sustainability through fundraising · Stakeholder relations management (Donors, regional institutes, etc)

· Institutional operational leadership (finance, human resources, marketing, etc)

Applicants must have strategic thinking ability, exceptional interpersonal relations skills and people management skills, analytical, pro-active, track record of participating in the regional poverty debate and an extensive knowledge of current poverty debates in and across the region.

The remuneration package is highly competitive.
