Tanzania: Kisarawe Gender Festival

On behalf of Activists from Kisarawe, Feminist Activist Coalition (FemAct) and Health Equity Group (HEqG), TGNP is pleased to announce the Gender Festival which will be held in Kisarawe! The theme is Economic Justice: Making Resources Work For Marginalised Women, and will take place from the 22nd till the 24th of June 2010 at Chanzige Primary School. The GF Kisarawe will be an open discussion forum with an emphasis on community animation.
Day One of the festival will focus on Maternal Health and be led by Health Equity Group. Day two the discussion will be on Water and the third on Economic Justice. During these three days a Maternal Health campaign will be launched on the first day and the weekly Gender Development Seminar Series in Kisarawe will be launched on the last day.

You and your organization/ group can participate in the Festival through:

Mobilising and facilitating a large group from your country, region, area, constituency or organization to attend and contribute at the festival;
Creating an interactive exhibition that may include publications, photographs, appropriate technology materials, handcraft and others;
Preparing Artistic Performances related to Festival themes;
Active attendance and contributions during the Festival;
Financial contribution and fundraising to support specific events; and
Other forms of contribution to enhance the festival.

The official language of the festival will be Kiswahili. Please communicate to us as soon as possible your organization’s proposed contribution to the festival so that we can include you in the plan and the programme.
