The project seeks to ensure: (i) the use – in strategic jurisdictions - of key domestic and international criminal justice mechanisms; and (ii) the shoring up in Africa of support and proactive cooperation for international criminal justice mechanisms, including the International Criminal Court.

The project aims to promote domestic and international accountability, strengthen emerging regional criminal accountability mechanisms as well as counter the existing political backlash and efforts to weaken international justice mechanisms, particularly the International Criminal Court (ICC), in Africa.
